Harvest advancing in Minnesota

The harvest of small grains and other specialty crops is advancing in Minnesota.

The latest USDA crop progress report shows the sugarbeet harvest, at nine percent, is slightly ahead of the five-year average.

More than half the dry edible bean acreage has been harvested, a week faster than normal.

The potato harvest is lagging about two days behind at 40 percent complete.
