A new generation is taking over the combine on one southwest Michigan farm.
Chris Poll has spent the last several years assisting his family with harvest where needed, but this year he’s leading the team.
“I’m thoroughly enjoying it,” he shares. “It gives me a whole new perspective on my plan for next year as far as hybrids and fields, and what to do where.”
Poll tells Brownfield he’s starting to think bigger picture for the farm as his generation transitions responsibility.
“And then trying to think of how can I make this better next year, and be more efficient because everything now is so expensive.”
With about 1,000 acres of corn left, Poll expects to wrap up harvest near Thanksgiving.
