Every year there are some crop quality issues, but this year warm and damp weather has created more wide-spread challenges.
Steve Gauck, an agronomist with Beck’s Hybrids, reminds farmers to take extra steps when harvesting and storing their grain this fall.
He says if farmers are still harvesting damaged corn – they should adjust their combine settings to maximize cleaning. “The biggest thing I would do is keep the airflow up on the combine,” he says.
