Harvest running ahead of normal in Iowa

The harvest pace remains ahead of normal despite late week rains in Iowa.

USDA’s latest crop update says corn is nine percent harvested, compared to the five-year average of five percent.

Soybeans are 11 percent harvested, which is three days faster than a year ago and one day ahead of normal.

Moisture conditions remain very dry across Iowa with 73 percent of topsoil and 79 percent of subsoil rated short or very short.
