Harvest is underway in parts of Tennessee for corn, hemp,
and tobacco.
According to the USDA’s latest Crop and Weather Report 86 percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent. Five percent has been harvested, 42 percent is mature, and 87 percent of the crop is dented. Soybeans are rated 83 percent good to excellent with 17 percent of the crop dropping leaves and 89 percent setting pods. Thirty-nine percent of tobacco is rated good to excellent with 47 percent of the crop cut and 91 percent topped.
