Hazlett to continue rural drug crisis work at White House

The

USDA’s Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development has transferred to the

White House.  Anne Hazlett has been named White House’s Senior

Advisor for Rural Affairs.

Hazlett’s

new role will expand on her rural drug control efforts at USDA, allowing her to

focus on prevention, treatment, and recovery for people addicted to opioids and

other drugs.  Hazlett says addiction is a monumental barrier to rural

prosperity, and the crisis of addiction is a priority for her and the Trump

Administration.
