Hearing: young and beginning farmers continue to face challenges

America’s farmers

are getting older and as they look to retire or transition away from farming, young

and beginning farmers are faced with challenges.

A House Small Business Subcommittee hearing on rural development, agriculture, trade, and entrepreneurship this morning discussed these challenges and what can be done to help young farmers succeed in agriculture.  

During his testimony,

Iowa farmer Jason Grimm said he has had difficulty accessing land as a young

farmer.
