Iowa crops experienced rain, heat, and in some cases damaging winds last week.
USDA’s latest crop report says a derecho blew through North Iowa Tuesday, causing some crop damage. Fieldwork included wrapping up the first cutting of alfalfa and working on the second.
The corn condition rating improved four percentage points on the week to 81 percent good to excellent, with seven percent silking compared to the five-year average of 21 percent.
