Across the Corn Belt, Post-Tropical Cyclone Barry is
moving east-northeastward across the lower Great Lakes region, producing
scattered showers. Meanwhile, a cold front is sparking widespread showers and
thunderstorms across the upper Midwest. Elsewhere, heat and oppressive humidity
is building across the southwestern Corn Belt, including Illinois, Iowa,
Missouri, and Nebraska.
On the Plains, hot weather prevails from Nebraska
southward into Texas. Wednesday’s high temperatures will approach or reach 100°
across portions of the central and southern Plains.
