At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed lower ahead of widespread direct cash business, position squaring, and the less than stellar performance of wholesale values during the session, and technical pressure. February live cattle closed $1 lower at $126.82 and April live cattle closed $.42 lower at $127.87. March feeder cattle closed $.27 lower at $144.40 and April feeder cattle closed $.02 lower at $146.65.
Direct cash cattle trade is still pretty quiet. There are just a few scattered bids in parts
of Nebraska at $198, dressed.
