At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed mostly lower on technical pressure and disappointment in the cash trade. Seasonal demand concerns are also limiting any price movement. February live cattle closed $.45 lower at $122.40 and April live cattle closed $.30 lower at $124.50. January feeder cattle closed $.40 lower at $147.57 and March feeder cattle closed $.15 lower at $145.77.
A light to moderate direct cash cattle trade has developed across several areas Friday afternoon.
