At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed mostly steady on position squaring ahead of this week’s reports. The market is waiting for any indication for direction from the cash trade. Feeder cattle futures were sharply higher, finding support in the day’s lower move in corn. February live cattle closed $.10 higher at $122.35 and April live cattle were unchanged at $124.57. January feeder cattle were $1.22 higher at $147.42 and March feeder cattle closed $1.17 higher at $145.45.
