At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures ended the day lower on position squaring ahead of Friday’s Cattle on Feed report and widespread direct business. Feeder cattle futures were lower on the same factors. August live cattle closed $1 lower at $104.55 and October live cattle closed $.95 lower at $106.10. August feeder cattle closed $.72 lower at $136.52 and September feeder cattle closed $.60 lower at $137. Direct cash cattle trade had some light activity this afternoon.
