Hog futures mostly higher to end the week

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were sharply lower, pressured by the week’s lower direct business.  June live cattle closed $3.80 lower at $172.05 and August lives closed $3.35 lower at $169.97.  May feeder cattle closed $5.70 lower at $238.17 and August feeders closed $5.85 lower at $248.62.

There was just some light direct cash cattle business that took place throughout the week.  Live deals in the South were at $184, $2 lower than the previous week’s business.
