At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle were sharply lower, pressured by the week’s lower direct business. June live cattle closed $3.80 lower at $172.05 and August lives closed $3.35 lower at $169.97. May feeder cattle closed $5.70 lower at $238.17 and August feeders closed $5.85 lower at $248.62.
There was just some light direct cash cattle business that took place throughout the week. Live deals in the South were at $184, $2 lower than the previous week’s business.
