Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were sharply lower
with pressure from the lower midday boxed beef and the drop in hogs, ahead of
the week’s widespread direct cash business. Some light trade did develop during
Wednesday’s session. August was down $1.20 at $106.90 and October was $1.42
lower at $107.65.
Feeder cattle were down sharply on the same factors as the live pit.
August was $1.57 lower at $141.52 and September was down $1.60 at $142.45.
