At the Chicago
Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed higher with support from the
week’s higher cash trade and the potential for demand increase. Feeder cattle were higher on the same factors
with additional support from the day’s modestly lower move in corn. October live cattle closed $2.07 higher at
$105.02 and December live cattle closed $1.82 higher at $110.57. October feeder cattle closed $1.22 higher at
$144.32 and November feeder cattle closed $1.52 higher at $142.97.
A light to moderate live trade developed across all feeding areas Friday.
