Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were down and feeders were mostly lower, getting ready for the week’s direct business. August live was down $.45 at $178.30 and October was $.70 lower at $179.60. August feeders were $.02 lower at $243.22 and September was down $.27 at $246.35.
Direct cash cattle markets were quiet. Bids and asking prices remain poorly defined and this week’s show list looks smaller than last week in all of the major feeding areas.
