Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher, supported
by optimism about a proposed trade deal with Japan, potential progress with
China, and the firm to higher midday boxed beef. August was up $.85 at $105.47
and October was $1.60 higher at $101.00.
Feeder cattle were supported by the same factors as the live pit.
August was $1.30 higher at $138.65 and September was up $2.75 at $136.00.
Direct cash cattle markets were quiet.
