Hog futures supported by demand expectations

At the Chicago
Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures ended the day higher finding support in the
poor weather and feedlot performance.  The
anticipation of higher cash business was also supportive to the day’s higher
prices.   April live cattle closed $.55 higher at
$126.55 and June live cattle closed $1.02 higher at $121.45.  April feeder cattle was unchanged at $145.42
and May feeder cattle closed $.65 higher at $150.50. 

A light direct cash cattle trade has been reported in parts of Nebraska at the end of the day.
