At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, cattle futures closed mixed ahead of widespread direct cash business. The indecisive cash trade didn’t help contracts find any direction. October live cattle closed $.15 lower at $108.90 and December live cattle closed $.02 lower at $113.72. September feeder cattle closed $.05 higher at $151.77 and October feeder cattle closed $.05 higher at $151.52.
The wide spread between bids and asking prices is keeping direct cash cattle trade at bay today.
