Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were up and feeders were mostly higher, watching corn and the early stages of this week’s direct cash cattle business. April live was up $1.15 at $139.05 and June was $1.52 higher at $135.45. March feeders, the exception, were down $.57 at $154.02 and April was up $.65 at $160.32.
Direct cash cattle business was underway by Tuesday afternoon. Light trade was reported at $138 live in Kansas and Texas, down $2 on the week, which could be a sign buyers will try to extend last week’s leverage.
