Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were
higher, with spillover from hogs and traders buying back part of Wednesday’s
losses, while waiting to see just how much direct business remains this week.
Weekly beef exports were 11,800 tons, down from the previous week and the
four-week average, with Hong Kong the big buyer. The USDA’s next cattle on feed
report is out April 18th. April was up $.12 at $126 and June was $.47 higher at
$120.42.
