House Democrats have expressed
concerns about the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement as the Trump administration is
trying to build congressional support for it.
House Ways and Means Chairman
Richard Neal wrote a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and
said House Democrats will be reaching out in the next few days about labor and
environmental standards in the USMCA.
He says there must be “mechanisms”
in the agreement to ensure that those provisions are enforceable
The USMCA still must be
ratified by all three countries.
