HPAI detected in southwestern Indiana commercial turkey flock

A commercial turkey farm in Daviess County (southwestern) Indiana has tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza.  This is the first case in a commercial flock in the state in more than a year. The flock of more than 13,000 birds will be depopulated and the site will remain under quarantine until the completion of virus elimination.

A 6.2-mile control area has been established around the site, it includes 45 commercial flocks and 48 hobby/backyard flocks.
