Soybean exports so far this year are off by 13 percent, according to Todd Hubbs, an agriculture economist at the University of Illinois.
“And that’s all China,” Hubbs told Brownfield Ag News Wednesday. “We’ve seen really strong soybean exports to Mexico and places like Pakistan and Japan, but they’re not making up for the China loss that we normally see this time of year.”
The first thing Hubbs says he look for in Thursday’s USDA Supply and Demand Report is use projections, as well as production estimates.
