Illinois beef farmer hoping for passage of FEEDD act

Forage options for cattle producers was a top concern at the Illinois Beef Association’s Summer Conference. Alan Adams is part of a seven-generation feeder cattle farm in Sandwich, Illinois. He says recent weather conditions have created a list of problems, including a forage shortage. “Every day has just been another challenge. Our grazing plan went out the window, our crop management plan went out the window, our manure management plan went out the window and pasture conditions have been horrible.” Adams tell Brownfield if the Feed Emergency Enhancement During Disasters- or FEEDD act is passed, it will benefit him and other cattle producers immensely.
