Illinois crop conditions leap higher

Illinois crop conditions took a big leap forward this past
week.

The latest report from USDA shows corn rated good to excellent
jumped four points to 49 percent.

Soybeans in the good to excellent category went from 40
percent to 50 percent.

Crop development remains behind, with 34 percent of corn in
the dent stage compared to the five-year average of 60 percent.

Nearly 80 percent of soybeans are setting pods, but the
normal pace is 94 percent.
