Illinois crops are progressing much faster than the 5-year-average.
As of Sunday, corn silking was at 40 percent compared to the average 11 percent. The crop is 84 percent good to excellent.
Soybean blooming has reached 44 percent, up 33 percent from the average. Illinois soybeans are 78 percent good to excellent.
Winter wheat harvest is also above average, by 16 percent, with 83 percent harvested.
Topsoil moisture is 93 percent adequate to surplus.
