USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in Illinois has set two deadlines for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
Producers can apply for EQIP throughout the year, however
Illinois producers are encouraged to apply by March 20th or April 17th.
The EQIP program helps fund conservation practices and the
development of plans for things like comprehensive nutrient management,
grazing, water drainage and more.
Illinois NRCS State Conservationist Ivan Dosier says the
agency has a long history of conservation planning with ag producers and forestry
managers and uses technical knowledge and conservation programs like EQIP to
help producers implement those plans.
