A long-time farmer says his primary concern in on-going trade disputes is not for himself, but for the next generation of farmers. Like many others, western Illinois farmer Ted Mottaz sold most of this year’s crop before trade issues took a big bite out of prices. Mottaz, who’s been farming since the early 80s, compares current events to President Carter’s Russian grain embargo.
“I am very concerned about the young farmer,” Mottaz, of Elmwood, Illinois, told Brownfield Ag News at the Illinois State Fair.
