Illinois farmer expecting smaller winter wheat crop in ’22

The winner of the 2021 Illinois Wheat Association winter wheat yield contest is expecting a smaller crop across the state in 2022.

Mark Krausz of New Baden in southwestern Illinois tells Brownfield while he was able to get is winter wheat planted on time last fall with good plant establishment, other growers on a panel during the Illinois Double Crop Farmers Forum, weren’t so fortunate.
