The USDA says Illinois farmers have completed this year’s soybean harvest and are nearly done with corn.
As of Sunday, 95% of the state’s corn crop has been harvested, compared to the five-year average of 91%.
Eighty-five percent of the expected wheat crop has emerged with 73% of the crop in good to excellent shape.
Topsoil moisture supply was rated 61% adequate and 4% surplus, and subsoil moisture was rated 49% adequate and 1% surplus.
