The Illinois Soybean Association recently hosted a Chinese ag delegation, “Just the fact that we have Chinese trade teams coming, that shows their dedication and their willingness to buy US. soybeans,” says Mark Albertson, “However, they have no plans to buy our beans unless the tariff goes away. So, that was something that came through loud and clear.”
Albertson, Illinois Soybean Association strategic market development director, tells Brownfield Ag News everyone at the meeting was hopeful the tariffs will go away and he thinks that’s why the Chinese came to Illinois.
