The Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts recently recognized several Hoosiers and organizations for their efforts in protecting Indiana’s natural resources.
Jeff Baker, president of the association board, says the honorees go above and beyond their normal duties to make their communities and the state better.
The first Friend of Conservation Award, sponsored by Brownfield Ag News, was awarded to Purdue University for its Help the Hellbender Project. Created in 2007, the project combines research, outreach, and a rearing program to improve conservation efforts and rebuild the hellbender population.
