The Indiana Sheep and Wool Market Development Council at Purdue University is funding six new projects this year.
The council will sponsor the All-American Junior Sheep Show, the Whitley County Lamb and Wool Ambassador Pageant. It will also sponsor three events at the Indiana State Fair: the sheep shears’ contest, the “make it with wool” contest, and the wool room renovations.
Dawn Parks, contact administrator with the group, says the projects are designed to engage the public who may not be aware of products coming from Indiana sheep farms.
