The world’s largest biofuel producer says ethanol-blended diesel fuel could revolutionize the transportation sector.
Doug Berven, vice president of corporate affairs with POET, says companies with large fleets are looking for cleaner, alternative fuel options. “You’re not going to electrify the heavy-duty truck market. They’re looking for other solutions. If they can use ethanol to run these trucks rather than diesel, it reduces the carbon intensity of these trucks tremendously.”
Speaking with Brownfield during the 2022 National Association of Farm Broadcasting, he said ethanol in diesel fuel is widely available, but engine technology isn’t.
