Iowa and Nebraska groups react to RVO announcement

More reaction to the EPA announcement of the proposed RFS Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs).

Iowa Corn Growers Association president Mark Recker says by failing to reallocate the gallons of ethanol exempted through the small refinery process, farmers are faced with the further destruction of ethanol demand.  Recker says ICGA will continue fighting to protect the rights of Iowa’s farmers and consumers and hold the EPA accountable.

Troy Bredenkamp, executive director of Renewable Fuels Nebraska, says the announced volumes are “near meaningless” if this EPA continues to grant back-door RFS waivers to oil refineries and fails to reallocate those lost volumes.
