Iowa is celebrating the 5th anniversary of the state’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy.
At a celebration event near Boone on Tuesday, Iowa ag secretary Mike Naig said he’s been very encouraged by the engagement across the state.
“We’ve seen farmers and landowners and communities—businesses, homeowners and many others—making improvements to improve water quality,” Naig said. “More than 250 different organizations are participating in our 65 demonstration projects across the state.”
Jim Gulliford, Region 7 administrator for the federal EPA, congratulated Iowa on its implementation of the plan.
