Members of the ag community are hopeful the biotech corn dispute between the U.S. and Mexico can be resolved soon.
Logan Lyon serves on the Iowa Corn Growers Association’s Board of Directors. “Mexico is our number one consistent corn trade partner,” he said. “We’d like to keep that up.”
Lyon tells Brownfield Mexico’s ban on biotech corn imports isn’t grounded in science. “We’re so proud of the GMO technologies that we have because we can produce finer, better quality crops with fewer chemicals and better control of our environment as far as soil erosion and that.”
He says the dispute will be one of the organization’s biggest priorities in 2023.
