Harvest is wrapping up or nearing the end for most Iowa farmers.
USDA’s latest weekly crop update shows soybeans 97 percent harvested and corn at 89 percent. The pace for both crops is more than a week ahead of their five-year averages.
Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig says although weather has been agreeable, there’s still plenty of fieldwork to finish up yet this fall.
Livestock reports included calves being weaned and cattle being turned out onto stalk fields.
