Iowa farmers made some good progress on corn planting last week before rain and snow over the weekend shut things down again.
The weekly crop progress reports show 21 percent of Iowa’s expected corn crop has been planted, two days behind the five-year average. Most of the planting took place in central, south central and southeast Iowa. Northern sections of the state were still less than 10 percent planted as of Sunday.
