A southwest Iowa farmer is concerned about the price and
availability of anhydrous ammonia this spring.
Julius Schaaf of Randolph says fall fertilizer applications were extremely limited because of wet conditions over a huge area of the Corn Belt.
“So we’ve been looking at dry fertilizer. We do some side-dressing with liquid, so we’ve actually locked in some of that.”
He tells Brownfield a spring pass of anhydrous is preferred but is trying to keep all options on the table.
