A central Iowa farmer is finding success doing less tillage.
Corey Hillebo of Polk City says he switched to strip-till a few years ago.
“I see strip-till as a leverage of my time and logistics that I can do the seed bed prep when I’m not trying to field cultivate, spray, plant, and tend all of those things.”
He tells Brownfield strip-till has enabled him to cut back on crop inputs and fits well with carbon reduction strategies.
