A central Iowa farmer says it’s been a crazy year for
pests.
Corey Hillebo grows corn and soybeans near Polk City.
“We’ve had three generations of thistle caterpillar. And if you’ve ever had them this year, you knew it because it didn’t take long for them to ravage your field.”
He sprayed for them twice, but tells Brownfield there won’t be a third treatment because the last generation doesn’t seem as bad as the first couple.
