Last week’s warmer and drier conditions in Iowa allowed spring fieldwork to finally get underway in most areas.
There was some corn being planted, although not enough to register a percentage rating yet in the weekly crop progress report. The report showed 48 percent of the oat crop had been planted, five days behind the five-year average.
Pasture conditions rated 53 percent good to excellent and 36 percent fair.
