Eastern Iowa farmer Lance Lillibridge says field conditions are completely different from the last three growing seasons as widespread rains continue this spring.
“We grew a crop of corn (last year) on about 5-7 inches of rain for the season,” he said. “That’s just unheard of.”
The Benton County corn farmer tells Brownfield many growers in his area have a lot of fields that haven’t been planted. “Going into the spring, we thought we were going to stay in the drought,” he said.
