Twenty-five years ago, Indiana soybean farmers started a program to encourage Purdue University students to find new uses for soybeans.
Jane Ade Stevens, CEO
of the Indiana Soybean Alliance, has been part of the program since its
inception.
“It’s been one of the
most exciting programs the soybean checkoff has ever funded,” she says. “This
is what we wanted to have happen- to find new uses and also encourage students
to look at agriculture and soybeans as a potential place for their career.”
She tells Brownfield it
has been incredible to see the growth the program has caused.
