It’s June Dairy Month and Midwest Dairy’s CEO is highlighting the success of getting milk to more people who need it. Lucas Lentsch points to Nebraska where five schools have a lot of money in the Pints to Gallon program, “There were five schools that raised more than $11,000 for the worthy cause of funding taking pints and turning them back into gallons. Basically, empty pints of cardboard containers of milk filled with coins that ultimately were donated back.” He says the donations go to food pantry partners that provide fresh milk and it’s one of the ways Midwest Dairy supports Feeding America.
