Kansas farmer Craig Meeker says timely rains have made all the difference for his operation. “We are in really good condition today here in South Central Kansas,” he says. “Harvesting probably one of my top five wheat crops ever.”
He tells Brownfield he’s optimistic about the potential for this year’s crops. “Corn and sorghum is off to a tremendous start,” he says. “The cotton is just in the ground and really just emerging. we have a great opportunity to have a good crop going forward it looks like.”
Meeker says the last couple of years have been very difficult for farmers in his area and improved drought conditions provides a little bit of hope. “It’s a breath of fresh air,” he says. “It makes the opportunities to plant the next crop being fruitful in planting.
