Farmers are encouraged to keep crop insurance top-of-mind during
harvest because of potential production losses.
Compeer Financial crop insurance manager Tom Timko says growers should be communicating with their agent.
“If you’re chopping silage and haven’t called to get a claim in, do that. If you have a production loss already (because) you know you had a major wind or hail (event) and you have a production loss, get it turned in.”
He tells Brownfield producers also need to keep good records throughout harvest.
